All of these issues, while relatively small, impact the enjoyment people have of this game.<br />
Of course, some also impact the Role-Playing aspect of the RP server.<br />
<br />
1, The current setup of the game may discourage new players.<br />
You start in a relatively crap ship, with little money, and no real legit way of making any.<br />
Example: I started as Liberty Navy...<br />
A, I couldn't do missions as the NPC's are way overpowered.<br />
B, I couldn't really trade as I had little money to buy commodities and it would take ages to be able to have a full Cargo Hold.<br />
C, NPC farming is difficult as all Navy enemies simply ignored me, which is also good as they are overpowered.<br />
<br />
2, There seem to be no low-level missions anymore.<br />
I found the lowest to be "level 3", available on Planet Manhattan.<br />
The issue was it certainly wasn't level 3! Those ships blasted me to bits before I could even drop ones shield.<br />
I then tried a (supposedly) "level 5" mission later (in a better ship with better guns) and was facing 8 Gunboats!<br />
<br />
3, Wrecks/Loot hunting is now pointless<br />
Heading into the Badlands, I came across the "Patrol 27" ships, so I looted them (hoping to make some money).<br />
However, I noticed that the loot I gained from these ships is suddenly worth almost nothing.<br />
Not only that, but it was pointless to USE them either, as they were WAY weaker than what I had.<br />
Strangely, they are still Justice Mk III's, but not the same as the Justice Mk III's I was using....<br />
<br />
4, Player interactions have gone a tad downhill.<br />
Its very hard to Role-Play on a Role-Play server when others aren't really doing the same.<br />
I have had several "interactions" with people playing as criminal factions who just shoot randomly at you for no reason.<br />
These people also have much better ships/weapons/shields so you are no match for them.<br />
What happened to the InRP rules for PvP combat? Am I really allowed to just randomly blast whoever I want, whenever I want?<br />
<br />
5, Rule-breaking is confusing.<br />
I have been told once or twice by other players that "X is against the rules for my character", despite the fact that they also break rules themselves.<br />
Not only this, but the GAME rules also seem to have changed.<br />
Why can't a Freelancer (clue in the name) basically fly ANY ship they want?<br />
My Freelancer character got a lovely Corsair ship, with Corsair weapons, only to have his ship power nerfed due to "incompatibility" or something...? A Freelancer is a Freelancer, he should be able to fly ANYTHING.<br />
<br />
6, Faction standing issues<br />
I understand that when you kill one factions members, it angers them and pleases others.<br />
Example: Killing Hessians or Molly's will anger them but impress the Corsairs.<br />
However, this doesn't always seem to work correctly.<br />
After blasting Molly's for over an hour, the Corsairs still didn't have any improvement in standing.<br />
Also, killing Nomads (which is now super easy) is meant to impress EVERYONE except them, but it doesn't seem to.<br />
<br />
7, NPC's are suddenly dumb...?<br />
Apart from the fact that they completely ignore you, NPC's suddenly seem dumber.<br />
On several occasions, I have seen Rogues and Outcasts "attacking" Trade Lanes.<br />
Attacking is an overstatement, they shoot directly between the two lane circles until one has the bright idea to drop a Mine in the middle. Then they just fly around in little circles until it comes online again before doing exactly the same thing.<br />
While fun to watch, it kinda takes you out of the game world.<br />
On the odd occasion that one of these "attacks" causes other ships to enter the area, a small but very fast fight ensues. <br />
Usually resulting in a landslide victory for one side or the other. <br />
If the bad guys win, they go back to "attacking" the Trade Lane or fly off in a random direction until they die somehow.<br />
<br />
8, Particularly large ships are somewhat annoying.<br />
I often see the larger ships FAIL to enter Trade Lanes. Sometimes resulting in them BLOCKING said Trade Lane.<br />
I have therefore had to bypass that initial Trade Lane for its next section due to the fact that I cannot actually Dock with the first part of the Lane. I once found myself "stuck" against one of these large ships for 5 minutes while attempting to Dock with the Lane, until somehow it managed to dislodge itself..<br />
<br />
While none of these issues are particularly problematic, they don't seem to have occurred in earlier versions of Discovery that I have played. Most of them seem relatively new. Perhaps these can be worked on in some way?]]></content>

I'm having trouble tonight (01:15 UTC, 07/21) with mining in Omega-7.<br />
The field is exceptionally sparse of mineable asteroids (10% of usual at best)<br />
and after spending 10 solid minutes finding maybe 30 rocks to shoot with a Daumann miner,<br />
my Container had 52 total ore, and six or seven consecutive hits afterward added no ore to the container.<br /><br />
Is anyone else having a problem? It was in a specific location that I had mined on many occasions and<br />
I was well within range of the container.<br />

I am one of the Admins of the Kruger| POB <span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Miningfactory Neuss</span> located in Omega 7 system.<br />
<br />
The Kruger| team has decided to build an <span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Exotic Materials Laboratory</span> Module at this POB.<br />
We made two attempts. <br />
We found that, after delivering all the necessary materials to the base, the module simply disappears and the slot is empty.<br />
<br />
We hope you can resolve this issue or help us overcome it.<br />

		<content type="html" xml:space="preserve" xml:base="https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=203984"><![CDATA[I've seen this happen informally where a veteran takes a newbie under their wing, and let's face it, Freelancer is a decades old game and with the mod, it's not very beginner friendly. I remember way back when, I was hauling black market light arms in a freighter, got caught by LN, then he asked me why I wasn't hauling ice instead (pristine ice was a server-side thing and did not show up on FLstat. I did my research on FLstat and thought black market light arms had the best return). Well, I knew nothing about ores, so this suddenly opened up a whole new world for me.<br />
<br />
I think there's a benefit to implementing a volunteer mentorship program, where newbies and mentors could sign up, perhaps match time zones and mentors can teach newbies the ropes. There's a lot to the game and I could understand that it's very overwhelming. Might even reduce the number of ships that end up in bastille.<br />

		<content type="html" xml:space="preserve" xml:base="https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=203561"><![CDATA[Since 5.1 released to the public two weeks ago I've been exclusively playing Cruisers, and I've analyzed their performance both in controlled and uncontrolled environments: Conn fights, group fights and events. I also took both extremities to take a better conclusion: I flew the Q-ship, the lightest and least energetic cruiser, and the Praefect, the most energetic cruiser and second heaviest.<br />
<br />
I concluded:<br />
<ol type="1" class="mycode_list"><li><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Cruisers shine brighter the bigger the fight.</span><ul class="mycode_list"><li>With the new shield regen drain, cruisers are particularly strong when not being shot at. They're great at supporting larger ships in a battle where they are not the enemy's focus.<br />
</li>
</ul>

<li><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">They're terrible one-to-one or one-to-N.</span><ul class="mycode_list"><li>Cruisers have around 40k energy per second recharge, while battlecruisers have around 52k if you take into account the power distributor. When being shot at, their regen speed drastically falls to around 17500, gunboat levels of recharge. When dueling or fighting multiple smaller enemies, the cruiser effectively only has a single bar of shield health. On duels, I straight up just disable my shield for the entirety of the fight and this gave me much success, as my enemy is crippled with no DPS.<br />

<li><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Loadouts...</span><ul class="mycode_list"><li>I've talked about the issue with the cruiser loadouts <a href="https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=203246" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="mycode_url">here</a> and unfortunately they still persist. I've already found the cookie cutter loadout of the Wraith cannon followed by Impacts or Shards. It's such a versatile loadout there's no point in using anything else, unless I want to meme around.<br />
</li>
<li>Missiles have disappeared from cruiser loadouts. I haven't seen a single cruiser use a missile for the 15 days 5.1 has been out.<br />

Now, a review of every cruiser weapon I got to try out:<br />

Particularly good against snubs, sucks at anything else. <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">I do not recommend</span>.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Cruiser Blaster Turret</span> - Tachyon sidegrade, slower firing and slightly faster projectile. <span style="color: #55bb00;" class="mycode_color">Decent</span>.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Cruiser Impact Cannon</span> - This is the hull weapon. Great damage, great efficiency, somewhat sluggish projectile, but still wrecks anything. <span style="color: #00FF00;" class="mycode_color">I highly recommend this weapon</span>.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Cruiser Ion Blaster</span> - Absolutely insane weapon for shields. With 0.3 efficiency versus shield, you can overpower your opponent with raw efficiency, since pulses are notoriously inefficient at .13. However, you must make the hard choice of not using a hullbuster like the impact that is as efficient or even more efficient than pulses. The impact cannon has a anti shield efficiency of .14, .01 more than a pulse, and it also wrecks hulls. <span style="color: #55bb00;" class="mycode_color">Decent, tough choice</span>.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Cruiser Repeater Turret</span> - Another tachyon sidegrade. Very fast projectile, fun to use. <span style="color: #55bb00;" class="mycode_color">Decent</span>.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Cruiser Shard Cannon</span> - Good if you're tired of the Impacts as they are very similar, but the shard has dispersion. Use the shards if you want to pair weapon groups with your heavy turrets. <span style="color: #00FF00;" class="mycode_color">I highly recommend this weapon</span>.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Cruiser Storm Cannon</span> - A worse version of the impact. They share the same anti shield efficiency while being worse at hulls. 50m/s faster not enough to make up for this fact. <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">I do not recommend</span>.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Cruiser Tachyon Lance</span> - Most weapons derived from the lance. A very versatile gun with good overall stats. Better efficiency over its sidegrades wins a stronger recommendation. <span style="color: #00FF00;" class="mycode_color">I recommend this weapon</span>.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Cruiser Solaris Gatling</span> - Very power hungry, too much spread at distances with mediocre efficiency. Great damage up close. <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">Just use a tachyon</span>.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Light Mortar</span> - Extremely punishing weapon to use with poor efficiency. Very fast with better range, but too many bad qualities. <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">I do not recommend</span>.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Cruiser Wraith Cannon</span> - The best Tachyon sidegrade. It is as efficient, and fires slower, but the catch is that due to its slow speed you can safely pair the Wraith with Impacts or Shards, which gives you much more agility in close encounters. <span style="color: #00FF00;" class="mycode_color">I highly recommend this weapon</span>.</div></div>
<br />
How to make cruisers better? Well, my suggestions concerning loadouts are the same: Move the "old" weapons like the storm, shard and impacts back to the front, add NEW weapons exclusive for defensive slots, kinda like how battlecruisers got their new heavy weapons. Additionally, Re-add 360 weapons that can be placed in either slot, heavy or defensive. They would have efficiency ranging from light mortar (lowest) to tachyon (highest).<br />
<br />
I'd also like to see an option for cruiser shields like the gunboats have. A "Duelist" cruiser shield which regenerates significantly slower (900-1000e/s vs 1600 current) but without regen power drain would be ideal for my play style.]]></content>

		<content type="html" xml:space="preserve" xml:base="https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=203475"><![CDATA[The Hegemon has been made quite a nuisance since the size-upgrade, for an asteroid miner it really has it's problems navigating an actual asteroid field due to size, momentum and poor maneuverability. I can understand the reduced cruising and the lack of tradelane compatibility, but since this ship is supposed to be the new hot shit in asteroid mining, a sleeker handling would have been nice. Cargo space is ok, but every turret the Hegemon equips, that are now necessary for mining too, reduces cargo space. And shields would be nice, when dealing with the Molly presence in Dublin or Leeds where the Hegemon should shine. Bigger ships have shields, so I really can't understand this decision. Last but not least it has too poor results in asteroid mining (again, for the supposed new hot shit in asteroid mining), a 3-4 times bigger yield (factoring in the slow ass time you need to get the Gold Ore to the nearest POB and back into the field and factoring in that due to slowness one could align the rate of this big mining ship with ships like the Arrastra, which I have yet to test in Dublin) would be realistic.]]></content>

It is difficult however to figure out ZOI without it though. When RM says they have ZOI in theta, I was like "??? Seems outrageous. Rheinland isn't even close"<br />

		<content type="html" xml:space="preserve" xml:base="https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=203246"><![CDATA[I've already raised my concerns and dissatisfaction with the cruiser slots changes since their first debut in the test server, but I'll now raise them publicly and open a discussion about this.<br />
<br />
The cruiser slot changes are a downgrade to cruiser gameplay because:<br />

<div style="margin-left: 40px; margin-right: 40px;">
<span style="font-size: large;" class="mycode_size"><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">They limit loadout options.</span></span> The impact cannons, storm cannons and shards now only fire side/back, and <span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i">there's no direct counterpart to them for the heavy offensive turrets</span>. You can no longer mount a forward-firing 1.0 hybrid cannon, a kinetic hull buster, or shotgun, as examples.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;" class="mycode_size"><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Single heavy-slotted cruisers have limited flexibility.</span></span> Now you must make the very hard choice of mounting only a single forward firing gun: A mortar is better for attacking at longer ranges, tachyons are better for chasing gunboats and consistent hit rate, a missile is very useful in group battles and for surprise head-on attacks. You can no longer have situational forwarding firing guns for such ships: you're forced to use your back guns, reposition yourself, or hit the nearest massive solar object like a planet to escape your painful existence.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;" class="mycode_size"><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Inviabilizes mounting missiles in single heavy-slotted cruisers.</span></span> I can no longer feasibly mount a missile because I completely lose heavy projectiles to my front, which is an enormous disadvantage. With version 5.0 360 guns, I could cover all sides with heavy projectiles to alleviate the problem, but not anymore.</div>

<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i">"The changes were made to discourage cruiser tail chasing"</span> you might argue, but limiting loadout options is the worst way possible of doing this. I'd very much prefer cruiser mines or a frontal weak spot in cruisers akin to battlecruisers. Alternatively, allow mounting ex-360 degree weapons (tachyons, solaris gattling, blaster, repeater, etc) on any slots, be those heavy or defensive.]]></content>

Hope i dont get to much flak for this but its time i open my mouth again<br />

Maybe its time for a petition of sorts <br />

I have been silent since the beginning of update 5.0<br />
It really appeared as if there was going to be an improvement on this Discoverygc game <br />
and that old nonsense and bad vibes would be something at the end specially when <br />
all pushed to make the game more popular and to invite more friends back.<br />
<br />
Since people left the server for good because of this undermining going on behind the curtains.<br />
<br />
I lost many a friends on this server people i trained and gave free ships just to be trolled <br />
ganked, shadow logged, and killed around every jumpgate or hole.<br />
<br />
And when i publicly mouthed it out that specially staff of this server was behind it i myself got <br />
slapped hard for mentioning it by RP that was called as OORP in Favour of the trolls guilty of doing<br />
these horrific things.<br />
<br />
Recently a staff member got sanctioned for meta gaming and the person involved got slapped <br />
real hard shortly aftewards for "OORP"<br />
<br />
I know the guy i know his RP we had similar RP conversations many times his humour might be a bit off at sometimes<br />
but it does tickle the funny bone and just cant help to laugh afterwards <br />
<br />
Hey if you so offended by what he said pm the person and say what you said to me i found offensive <br />
please refrain of talking to me like that and knowing him im sure he will treat you in future with cotton cloves<br />
as i know his character for very long time and he is not devious or bad person.<br />
<br />
But what has been said and what has been done and seeing how the same "GANG"<br />
treat other people afterwards when one of their own got slapped on the wrist for doing things wrong.<br />
<br />
I dont even want to get involved in the drama anymore <br />
<br />
Knowing that this stuff goes on yet still when i had so much hope for a better Discoverygc and seeing <br />
all the hard work done by ;<br />
<br />
Players - you wont have a server without players<br />
Amdins - to keep te peace and fix the broken stuff<br />
DEVS - for making all the cool candy<br />
and other staffs and people doing all the background work <br />
<br />
all worked hard to achieve this all try their best to make this a nice place<br />
<br />
And yet there is those hiding behind the curtain still making this place horrible to be at<br />
i for one say this in honesty and truth if it werent for the few "True Friends" i had left on this server<br />
you would long time have left and not see me here again.<br />
<br />
I thought there was hope for this place but the shenanigans are sticking their heads out again<br />
and in due time the truth comes out again time will always be the revealer of truth.<br />
<br />
A charade only lasts so long.<br />
<br />
So here i sit once again seing what is being done to others again and seeing how people are treated <br />
people that work hard unselfish being put to the sword for what ???<br />
<br />
So some troll can get their rocks off<br />
<br />
i find myself at the crossroads again.<br />

Stay and try harder to make it fun for my fellow neighbour in game <br />

Something easy to go to, for "normal" players, no signup, mabye 10 days every month. <br />

Hello everyone,<br />

I’ve been receiving some feedback about my character, Polizei Direktorin Freyja (by a report and for such a Warning), and I’d like to open up a discussion about it (<span style="color: #BF0000;" class="mycode_color"><span style="text-decoration: underline;" class="mycode_u">about the character itself only</span></span>). Some members have expressed concerns about Freyja’s age and suitability for her role. I understand that these concerns stem from a desire to maintain the integrity and realism of our role-playing environment, and I appreciate that.<br />
<br />
Freyja is between 28-33 years old, which might seem young for her position. However, I believe her age could add an interesting dynamic to the game, challenging traditional expectations and bringing a fresh perspective to her role.<br />
<br />
The first photo I used of Freyja was meant to represent her when she enlisted in the Polizei, specifically the Hamburg system’s Polizei according to her RP lore. The second photo was of an older Freyja, but it seems to have been met with even more resistance.<br />
<br />
I understand that as a Direktorin, you might expect a 40-60 years old female, but I prefer to give some life to the character. Sometimes when older, you lose skills, and while having the ability to get into bigger ships and so on, I like more the style that Freyja can suit almost any ship, even fighters or bombers where younger pilots usually rely on answer speed of skills and not in armor and shields. That doesn’t mean she dislikes the capital style, but it is usually more used when needed or something instead of the “usual only ship she flies” (And helping with a lot of people wanting to be more "Fighter Pilots in game now that we only see Caps, caps, CAPS everywhere, one wanna gave you and you denied, crazy i know)<br />

The reason for such a young character in a high position was due to the lack of players willing to play as Polizei in Rheinland. The faction was practically extinct, and in an effort to revive it and make it more appealing, I asked to take the position of 1IC (First in Command), i got the 2IC and then later promoted to 1IC when people see my REAL interest in playing as such. We currently have five registered members and are working on “de-militarizing” Rheinland to show that playing as Polizei can be fun too, while leaving the “Rheinland Military” to do what militaries do.<br />
<br />
I’ve noticed that some members are hesitant to role-play with me. If there are any issues or misunderstandings, I’d like to address them so we can all continue to enjoy our shared passion for role-playing. I’m not asking everyone to role-play with me, but I do ask that if no rule is broken, why should there be such issues?<br />
<br />
I’d like to address the issue of being joined into a Discord server outside the official channels, and i belive the report cames from the <span class="sp"><span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">BDM|</span></span> Discord Server (Outside official channels) and because from there was where discussion started. I believe that all moderation should be done within the official channels and not in private or unofficial spaces (a faction channel should be an unofficial channel, even if official faction is there, i mean, there should be some freedom (with due respect) and if you need to address an issue, get to the private and talk it POLITELY with the offender and try find a solution before "SILENTLY" press the "REPORT POST BUTTON" like there is no more days (¬¬). If there are any issues with my role-play or my characters, I would appreciate it if these were addressed in the appropriate manner and not through unofficial means.<br />

If someone wanna RP with the Polizei they will be welcomed, if you wanna bring a "Casual-Personalized" experience is well for me, push your "requirements" between slashes (//) and i will read it in OoRP Mode and apply to such experience you want to get it (or at least try my best)<br />

I had done some nice RP recently (with AEGIS|CV-Citadel) running it by <span style="color: #FFBF40;" class="mycode_color">Antonio</span> (Yes, the Developer man one) and asked about if my RP did the trick, well, the answer i received was "... <span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i">It was nice, so inmersive like a real way of doing it, feels good and personally i liked it</span>" ... (Words more words less, the idea was there)<br />
People maybe will not understand, but it was so nice to even get a compliment of just doing it nicely, seriously not lies in here!<br />

I’d like to remind everyone of our community rules and general terms &amp; conditions. Let’s remember to respect each other, communicate effectively, and avoid metagaming and powergaming. Our goal should be to create a fun, engaging, and respectful environment for everyone.<br />
