THE EDGEWORLDS SYNDICATE
The Edgeworlds Syndicate are a group of Junkers based in the far-flung fringes of Sirius. While they do enter House space in pursuit of credits much like other Junker clans, they have chosen to keep their base of operations in the Omicrons rather than situate themselves close to House space.

The Syndicate, as they are often called, are quite an unusual breed of Junker. Instead of creating haphazard, ramshackle ships and weapons that might blow up in their own faces, they are known for utilizing technology which exceeds the standard Junkers are known for. Various rumors discuss this case. Some voices say that the Syndicate found something in deep space which they used to advance themselves ahead of similarly positioned groups and organizations. Other rumors go as far as suggesting that they have become thralls of the Nomads or are in fact Technocracy agents masquerading as Junkers. The truth of the matter is they take great pride in their work and wish to be left alone because of rigid restrictive rules and laws that the Houses are known for. In fact, their isolationist stance resembles that of their Zoner neighbors more closely, than it does other Junker clans in the houses.

Seward Station, where they base their operations out of, is built into a shattered ice comet from the greater Tokelau Ice Cloud. This only adds to the uncanny nature of this Junker group. Not having built a base out of salved materials, they used an existing structure and heavily modified it. What's more, the base does not welcome anyone other than a few trusted clienteles. Breaking with the indirect tradition of most other Junker installations who regularly double as Freeports and welcome anyone.

While Syndicate members may possess an uncanny proficiency regarding the application of sophisticated technology, their speech patterns and general demeanor share significant similarities with other Junker clans, even going so far as to almost have their own language. While the words they speak may be gibberish, the terms in-between are enough to understand the basic gist of what meaning they are trying to get across. Additionally, Acts of piracy by this Junker group have not been recorded as of yet. Though they are known to resist in kind when faced with circumstances they themselves define as hostile.

Though much of their operations eschew that of normal Junkers, where they also do not differ in is their desire to make credits. This typically brings them into house space for brief periods of time, yet usually not beyond the Rheinland or Liberty as they are not welcome in Kusari and Gallia. Bretonia is too far away from their home in the Edge worlds in many cases. Though it goes without saying that promises of credits can, and may, lure them into those regions provided the payout is expected to be high enough.

In summary, the Edgeworlds Syndicate poses quite the puzzle to interested onlookers. Whether or not they are thralls to the enemies of mankind, secret agents, or just Junkers who take extreme pride in their work is left unsaid and unanswered. The only certainty is that the technology they employ is second to none, despite the reputation of their kin.

The Artemis Class Scanner Drone is avery sophisticated device.This drone can be operated fully by remote human controller.
The drone can upload tasks from the main Artemis server, as long as the operator is within range.
Tasks can also be recorded via Black Box.After the recording is complete,a retrieval vessel is sent to recover the Black Box.
ALL data is secured into the Artemis Classified Database.

The Artemis Alliance Scanner Drone is a very complex piece of machinery. And is a fully functional Intel drone.

Apart from the Controller, who makes the drone fly, It is able to identify targets as hostile or friendly. The drone will initiate contact through its PRIMUS protocol. Which is a set of programmed responses or greetings that the controller controls.
As an employee of the Artemis Alliance, all drones are key code accessed, and have their own unique serial number, which has been encrypted and triple hardened to be unidentifiable to any scan initiated by another vessel.
This means the true identity of the origin of the drone is concealed and cannot be penetrated by another vessels scanner.
Each drone can be reprogrammed at any time due to its capability to house a protocol brain box which is semi intelligent, which means the controller has to initiate some of the drones functions.

As you are aware being an employee of the Alliance, we always make sure you know how to conduct yourself while operating these machines.
Extensive upgrades will be constantly added to the hardware, and will make the drones much more complex and hopefully give them more range to carry out extensive sorties, wherever they are.

Updates on the continued effort to make these drones more functional will be placed within this document, and we hope that everyone is brought up to speed on how to make the most of these drones

Once a citizen of Planet Nuremberg in the Munich System, you were aware that the encroaching Dark Matter Storm would eventually lead to the planet's downfall. In response, the government initiated an evacuation.

Sadly, the evacuation efforts were insufficient, with mostly the influential individuals being rescued.

Fortuitously, the Bundschuh's timely intervention through their refugee program provided you sanctuary on Bruchsal. There, you chose to remain and assist others in need.

You had previously been employed by ALG Abfallentsorgung in Rheinland. Despite the challenging nature of the work, your working conditions were significantly better than those of workers at other corporations in Rheinland.

During the Imperialists' onslaught, you remained loyal to ALG, opposing the new regime and witnessing the destruction of Dortmund Station.

As ALG came under intense scrutiny in the newly reformed Rheinland, you chose to depart and align with the Bundschuh, ALG's longstanding and somewhat questionable ally, in an effort to enact change.

This stark revelation prompted you to abandon your affluent family and luxurious lifestyle to join the Bundschuh movement in their struggle for economic justice.

To primarily disrupt trade between Rheinland and Bretonia, taking advantage of the commercial traffic through the Omega Border Worlds. These Houses have had strain put on them, and with trade picking up, it's prime time for us to put an even harsher train on their credit flows. Secondly is to fend off the Red Hessians and Corsairs who think they know better when it comes to the loot. We kinda hate them more than the big transports flying back and forth.

Using the small pirate fleet operating out of Ithaca, we send out raiding parties across the Omegas to ensure that our presence is felt. Any and all loot and materials gathered would in turn be used to strengthen us and to make a profit. Ithaca needs shit to survive, and with our ships parked out front doing bugger all, this is where we can really make our presence felt. Currently we have a single piece of crap Grendel and two snub craft, one Bomber and Very Heavy Fighter. Soon, once we have accumulated enough from these corporations, we may be able to get something real nice to wreck shit with.

Okay, so we have been given three ships now. A Grendel, a Waran and lastly a Raven's Talon. Bandit has said that we should not hide the fact we're pirates. So the names are to match the actions and shit we'd do. Pretty much take anything juicy from anyone. We figure that we may be able to capture more ships from people, but no one here knows how to fly anything else. For the moment, we got these names, chosen by the Bandit:

Fighter: Raz|Nicker

Red Tape
.
Freelancers have a lot to give and a lot to lose. We have been there, before Ithaca was established. Got a sore spot for the 'lancers, you know? Unless they are clearly aligned with the big corpos who have everything to give and nothing to lose thanks to their insurance policies, means they have a free pass from us. Maybe a firm "Turn the fuck around" from us is all they'll get. If we feel like it. Oh, and if you do pay us when we ask for it, there's no way in hell we're protecting you. We aren't your fucking escorts, organize that yourself.

Ranks

We all want to share the gains, all want a shot as being the big boss. Can't much have a leader with three ships, but hey, when we all decide to go for a raid, we rock, paper, scissors it to see who runs the big ship. They call the shots for the day. The others, well, suck it up. They fly the smaller ships. At the end of the day we hopefully have something to bring back home. A little archaic, but fighting over scraps is nothing new for us. Though, we all gotta be careful when we arrive home. One guy there kinda scares the shit outta us, and they are the one who really makes the call on anything that affects all of us. Their name is Bandit. A fake name, anyone can be the Bandit. But this Bandit is, well, he's been here a while.

Turf
.
Our home is Omega-7, closeby to Rheinland, little bit further to Bretonia. We'd like to think we're a force to be reckoned with. We'll be taking inch by inch until we have solid control over the commercial Omegas and then go south, wreck some Hessians and Corsairs in their little warzone and if we feel courageous, take a dip into the Omicrons we keep hearing about. The little Silver deposit up north is a point we'd like to keep our eyes on, and we've heard chatter about science expeditions down south too. With us located right in the middle of it all, we're happy to take everything.

Demands
.
Let's put it this way, it's all up to whoever flies the big ship. We need shit to survive, and whoever wins the bloody rock, paper, scissors is that person's responsibility to make sure we make it until tomorrow. In the past, we see something we like, we'll take half of their cargo, enough to fill up our Grendel and then move on. Though if you're just a nub on their first day looking to "see the stars" or "finally explore the Omegas" or some nonsense, you may just be fined. A lot. We've had one particularly good day a few weeks back where we told a transport full of stuff to simply turn around and go home. I'm surprised the guy running the Grendel that day wasn't killed upon arrival to Ithaca after that. On occasions where neither really fit the bill, well, we got our Bomber.

Relations
.
Listen, we don't like the other pirates. The Bloodthirsty Hessians and Cannibalistic Corsairs. They think they are tough shit, and we wanna make sure we disrupt them as much as Gateway and all those corps. As I have mentioned before, if you were listening, is that we don't much mind the 'lancers. Give them some time of day, check in, make sure they are good and then refocus on the task for the day. Oh, and these "intelligence" factions like to come to us for some reason or another. Specifically the guys from Rheinland. Apparently taking ships from people tends to get an eyeball from them. Something about black box data or some crap, I dunno. We work with them because they like what we have to offer, even if we don't need it ourselves.

Currently we have a single piece of crap Grendel and two snub craft, one Bomber and Very Heavy Fighter. Soon, once we have accumulated enough from these corporations, we may be able to get something real nice to wreck shit with.

Okay, so we have been given three ships now. A Grendel, a Waran and lastly a Raven's Talon. Bandit has said that we should not hide the fact we're pirates. So the names are to match the actions and shit we'd do. Pretty much take anything juicy from anyone. We figure that we may be able to capture more ships from people, but no one here knows how to fly anything else. For the moment, we got these names, chosen by the Bandit:

Freelancers have a lot to give and a lot to lose. We have been there, before Ithaca was established. Got a sore spot for the 'lancers, you know? Unless they are clearly aligned with the big corpos who have everything to give and nothing to lose thanks to their insurance policies, means they have a free pass from us. Maybe a firm "Turn the fuck around" from us is all they'll get. If we feel like it. Oh, and if you do pay us when we ask for it, there's no way in hell we're protecting you. We all want to share the gains, all want a shot as being the big boss. Can't much have a leader with three ships, but hey, when we all decide to go for a raid, we rock, paper, scissors it to see who runs the big ship. They call the shots for the day. The others, well, suck it up. They fly the smaller ships. At the end of the day we hopefully have something to bring back home. A little archaic, but fighting over scraps is nothing new for us. Though, we all gotta be careful when we arrive home. One guy there kinda scares the shit outta us, and they are the one who really makes the call on anything that affects all of us. Their name is Bandit. A fake name, anyone can be the Bandit. But this Bandit is, well, he's been here a while.

Our home is Omega-7, closeby to Rheinland, little bit further to Bretonia. We'd like to think we're a force to be reckoned with. We'll be taking inch by inch until we have solid control over the commercial Omegas and then go south, wreck some Hessians and Corsairs in their little warzone and if we feel courageous, take a dip into the Omicrons we keep hearing about. The little Silver deposit up north is a point we'd like to keep our eyes on, and we've heard chatter about science expeditions down south too. With us located right in the middle of it all, we're happy to take everything.

Let's put it this way, it's all up to whoever flies the big ship. We need shit to survive, and whoever wins the bloody rock, paper, scissors is that person's responsibility to make sure we make it until tomorrow. In the past, we see something we like, we'll take half of their cargo, enough to fill up our Grendel and then move on. Though if you're just a nub on their first day looking to "see the stars" or "finally explore the Omegas" or some nonsense, you may just be fined. A lot. We've had one particularly good day a few weeks back where we told a transport full of stuff to simply turn around and go home. I'm surprised the guy running the Grendel that day wasn't killed upon arrival to Ithaca after that. On occasions where neither really fit the bill, well, we got our Bomber.

Listen, we don't like the other pirates. The Bloodthirsty Hessians and Cannibalistic Corsairs. They think they are tough shit, and we wanna make sure we disrupt them as much as Gateway and all those corps. As I have mentioned before, if you were listening, is that we don't much mind the 'lancers. Give them some time of day, check in, make sure they are good and then refocus on the task for the day. Oh, and these "intelligence" factions like to come to us for some reason or another. Specifically the guys from Rheinland. Apparently taking ships from people tends to get an eyeball from them. Something about black box data or some crap, I dunno. We work with them because they like what we have to offer, even if we don't need it ourselves.

Provence is the Gallic go-to system for tourism, prostitution and any vices the strict military-driven society of Gallia desperately craves, and Corse is here to host whoever pays and plays by their rules.
Smuggling:With the now self-applauded blockades between Gallia and Crayter, Kusari and Bretonia, the Corse are the ones that can get things from the banned houses at a very high premium.
Nox: The production, refinement, attempts at synthesising and securing logistical networks in Sirius are at the Course of our activities.
Acquisitions: The Sindacatu Corse does all it can to present a true neutral, profit-driven front. In the shadows, however, assassinations and acquisitions through violence are how we often achieve our goals. This is done strictly when we are sure either nobody will find out, or there will be plausible deniability.
Extortion: The way of the Corse is that of doing favours, providing resources, and even accepting contracts on behalf of various stakeholders, all this is to gain trust and power, slowly but surely. After a foothold has been established, this has the potential of leveraging power to extort protection money and other tributes from businesses and smaller criminal groups.
Influence Peddling: Using bribery, perks, and corruption to manipulate political and economic systems to their advantage.


Allies and Rivals
True Allies: None. The Corsicans see everyone but themselves as a mere tool to further their goals. If the backs of their "allies" were turned, and nobody would find out, the Corsicans would be ready to act if it furthers their goals.

Allies on paper: The Corse portray themselves as a true quasi-lawful neutral and accommodating faction to all sides to further their sphere of influence. They are required to be on the good side of all House Lawfuls in order to move freely, they often do this by accepting contracts from the likes of the Crayter Republic and even the Union itself, posing as mercenaries. They require unlawful allies in order to expand their Nox distribution network, in Gallia most notably the Brigands. It is a dangerous game they play, and it is not always successful, but if Corsicans had their way, they would be portrayed as neutral and helpful business partners by everyone but...

Rivals: The Outcasts. Nox is pretty much the opposite of Cardamine and they could potentially be used in unison. One is a powerful stimulant, the other is the strongest psychedelic drug on the market. Get your high on Cardamine during business hours, relax and go to sleep on Nox when you are at home... In practice, however, The Outcasts and their drug are an existential threat to Corse, there is a constant battle for distribution networks and for the limited purchasing power of Sirians. The addictive nature of Cardamine gives it an edge over Nox, and the Corsicans use any means necessary to keep it out of Gallia and to sabotage the Outcasts by any means necessary

The Sindacatu Corse is traditionally based in Provence and in Gallia, where Corse enjoy direct political influence, strong Nox distribution networks developed by manipulating the Brigands and Maquisards, and are the necessary force the Union cannot do without as they provide an outlet to the squeezed Gallic Society in Provence, provide what is needed by breaching the blockades, can have built up so much influence over the politicians they cannot be rooted out any time soon.

Sirius
Everywhere else, the Corse are dead set on their expansion, making "allies", providing favours, and acting as run-off-the-mill mercenaries in order to build up the same position they enjoy in Gallia and Provence.

Ships and Technology
Custom Ships: The Sindacatu Corse fleet consists of Corsican vessels, mostly based on Brigands technology, optimized for speed, stealth, and combat. These ships are designed to evade detection and engage in swift, decisive attacks, while still being able to disappear right back into the shadows without anyone finding out, sporting their signature "Noir" black theme.


What do we actually do?
  • Commerce and trade of legal goods across Gallia and Sirius to maintain our quasi-lawful front.
  • Escort and contract work for various sides and stakeholders, ranging from House militaries to Criminal groups like the Corsairs, in order to support our connection and influence building enterprise in deep Sirius. We are registered on many bounty boards.
  • Nox smuggling and connection building - we smuggle Nox directly, and use other groups when we can, showing the benefits of the natural remedy while downplaying the risks.
  • Outcast strikes - while pursuing Mercenary work outside of Gallia, sabotaging and striking the Outcasts alongside any side available is our priority - this has recently led to frequent combat assistance to the Corsairs in their skirmishes while we claim the bounties for Outcast heads.
  • Acquisitions - Corse have been known to straight up murder their closest "allies" and take what they want. We do this only in high-reward, low-risk scenarios when we are positive nobody will find out, near Corse bases or remote Nebulae where communications are jammed and always in the shadows.
