Due to the difficulty of tracking intentional cheaters, the Admins are now disallowing any modifications that make changes to the Freelancer .ini files. Programs such as SWAG Pack, that do not effect Freelancer .ini files are still permissable.

If you are currently using some sort of modification that edits these files, you have one week to either uninstall the mod or reinstall a clean version. After this time, if we catch a player making edits to their .ini files, they will have all ships deleted as first offense and banned after a second.

There are some cool FX mods out there. If you wish to have your effects added to the server, speak with the devs and see if they can work with you on implementing it.

Thank you,

The Admins

Can we get a list of mods that'd be affected? Y'know, just so that we can be sure.

What about /DATA/INTERFACE/HudShift.ini ?

While technically not a Freelancer file, it's still in the Freelancer directory.
I had to modify the horizontal and vertical offset as the automatic setting was not optimal.

HudShift is exempted from the anticheat.

Any mod that edits .ini files is affected by the above rule.
The SWAG pack isn't because it doesn't edit any .ini file.

The custom bridge addon thingy

Does that count?

Any mod that affects ini files directly is such. Black Widow changes the line in the weapons ini when it comes to the mortar effect, instead of changing the actual file to the original, for example. That one would get you flagged.

What about different HUDs and custom aiming crosses?

Is there any way we can check whether the additions we made would hit the anticheat?
I would hate to revert my beautiful HUD to the standard one and the nice aiming cross. QQ

I would rather suggest graphics and other addon authors to list the full list of files they change in their latest versions and send them to the devs/admins.
