Task Force Phoenix, hereafter referred to as TFP, is an autonomous military organization centered around the battle cruiser Roanoke, which also serves as the flagship and center of the entire task force.

Although the TFP is affiliated with the Xenos and LFR movements, it is essentially its own group precisely because of some schisms with the regular Xenos. The fundamental differences are the lower level of radicalization and the emphasis on military hiearchy, prestige, and tradition coming specifically from the Hellfire Legion and Liberty Insurgency, which leads to some superficial disagreements with other Xenos who may see the TFP as lacking in courage, determination, or reliability.

TFP was established 09-04-829 at Fort Ramsey, Ontario, which also serves as the first home base, and was founded by officers Captain Virginia Belle, Commander Fiona Hayes and Commander William Holmes.

TFP's primary task is to serve as organizational, logistical and military support to the battlecruiser Roanoke.

• Organizationally, the TFP not only provides a unified command structure, responsibilities, functions and ranks, but also establishes the rules, standards and operational procedures necessary for the smooth and orderly functioning of the entire unit.
  
• Logistically, the TFP is primarily tasked with providing and, even at appropriate bases, storing and managing operational supplies and materials not only for the ships and crews themselves, but also for the repair, maintenance and replacement of equipment, gear and installed facilities. This also includes maintaining small logistics teams at home bases to oversee, manage and store required supplies, services, equipment and facilities.
  
• Military support is the most direct of all functions and consists of operating and organizing combat capable assets to directly support Roanoke from a tactical standpoint. This includes primarily pilots with their fighters, escorting gunships, and or marines providing ship security and arranging drops on enemy vessels or stations.

Relations with other organizations are complicated, given their history within the Liberty Insurgency and the current patronage of the LFR. If TFP has any enemies on a personal level, they are LPI and Outcasts, primarily due to the course set by Captain Belle. Their armed struggle against these two entities then pits them not only against the more 'interesting' part of the law, but also against one of the largest criminal empires as well, including their allies and minions.
