Can you do a video or even show me some pictures when you're installing the game?

Also, try the following.

1. Go into your Discovery Freelancer Installation Folder Discovery Freelancer 4.91.0\EXE)
2. Start the flserver.exe
3. Write something into the Server Name and Server description
4. Press Ok and wait until the FLhook CMD window opens
5. If the FLHook CMD window gives you any error, post it here.

When I try to run the flserver.exe I just get a screen flash and then nothing

I can't even get the standard FL game to run, either the Discovery ISO version or my old disk version.
At the moment even the old standard version would be great.

Gone to play Crossout for a while, might help get some frustration out of my system (or make more lol)

You have to set a different user account for Freelancer Vanilla to run which will allow it to run alongside Discovery. Do NOT use the discovery launcher as it will corrupt the discovery account completely.
To avert any adverse reactions to said installs, make sure you keep the most recent launcheraccounts.xml.bak file somewhere safe on your system to reinsert it in your discovery account file. Otherwise you're gonna piss off one of the admins if you have to ask for recovery of your accounts.
Saving the file in case the unspeakable happens is much safer.
To further enhance the Vanilla version, download the FAM if you wish to run more than 5 characters per account and stay below the 1 bil credit limit per character or corruption of that whole account can occur.

I was thinking of returning to the game. I installed the vanilla Freelancer first and decided to test the install to see if worked. The .exe seems to come up for a moment then nothing happens. I have tried ensuring the .NET stuff is up to date. I've run as admin, I've run in every compatibility mode. It does make any diffrence it wont' launch at all. Any help you could offer would be appreciated. AS I doubt the Disco install would work if the vanilla won't.

Most likely you won't be able to install Disco with this vanilla client so I advise to use the second link in my prior post - it's a disco client. If you need fonts - vanilla client has folder called UTILITIES, open it and go to FL Fonts folder (might be named slightly differently but within this sense) - select all fonts, click right mouse button and install them
