The Starfliers exclusively use shared ships. Our tag is not open for our members to use to create their own ships with. Exceptions do apply. This faction is designed a certain way, and it differs greatly from how other factions are run. If you do not agree or have other reasons for not using shared ships, all I can advise is not to apply. As an extension of this, a question has been included into our application form to ensure this is understood before applying.

Who We Are Tag: '\S/', ID: Freelancer / '\S/' Starfliers ID, IFF: Unaffiliated
How do we represent ourselves in space?
. .
The Starfliers are an independent research and exploratory organization specializing in system cartography, studying points of interest and researching interstellar anomalies within Sirius and Gallia. Originally hailing from the Kepler System in 828 AS, they have rebuilt a home for themselves within the Inverness System. Their largely miniscule footprint within space has allowed them to stay neutral with most parties. The information they gather is sold to any organization wanting to work with the Starfliers.
This Independent official faction ID is used by Starfliers, who:
Cannot mount weapons.
Cannot fulfill bounty contracts.
Cannot use Liners other than '\S/'RCV-Velorum and '\S/'SRV-Sol.
Can only fly Civilian, Border Worlds and Edge Worlds ships.
Can only fly Light Fighters, Freighters, Corvo, Albatross, Liners.

Company Origins Where did the Starfliers come from?
How did they get to where they are now?
. .
Leon, a freelance pilot hailing from Omicron Theta found a really good deal on a Bustard equipped with hyperspace technology. Catch was, the Bustard had a defect and the price was too good to be true. Once the purchase was completed and Leon obtained the Bustard known as the Velorum, he spent a bit of time exploring the Sirius Sector.
One time, the Velorum's defect caused a Jump Drive malfunction, bringing the vessel right into the Hammen Hole in Omega-5. It didn't take long for Leon to see the state of the system. Many disabled ships, dead pilots and a handful of Corsairs and Hessians fighting each other. The Hammen Hole struck a chord with him, convincing him that weapons are not the way to deal with any issues. From that moment forward, Leon promised himself that he would never mount a single arm on his ship, to prevent any unnecessary bloodshed and loss of life. This would later be applied to every other Starfliers vessel, effectively handicapping their ability to fight back any undesirables.
Flying around Sirius in his Bustard, Leon gained some credits a bit of reputation through his contract work as a Hyperspace Surveyor. With the data servers on board his ship reaching capacity, Leon decided it was time to setup a home somewhere in the Independent Worlds. This is when the Starfliers were officially introduced. Information started circling around the Neural Net around 828 AS, recruiting other researchers, scientists and crew that primarily specialize in exploration, cartography and hyperspace related scientific fields. Shortly after, Leon encountered the Technocracy of Auxo within the Taus. They had questioned Leon about his job, purpose and origins. Their conversation was quite fruitful, as this sparked a secret partnership between the Starfliers and the Technocracy, to a degree where they had funded the Starfliers growth into what they are known as now.
Not only did they receive a huge influx of credits, but their clientele grew quite large too. Servicing the most developed organizations within Sirius, the Starfliers profits from their services were redirected internally to grow. This cycle of reinvestment allowed the company to purchase new ships and craft, dedicated to certain roles and processes. Over the few years they have been operational, the Starfliers have accumulated a handful of transports, civilian explorers and some freighters, all with their own roles and tasks to perform to continue on their main goals of exploration and research.
Presently, the Starfliers are the first choice for many who would contract their services in system cartography, hyperspace travel and research reports.

Company Goals What are our organization's goals?
What are we doing to achieve these goals?
. .
Primary
We're looking to record and discover as much as we can utilizing our small-scale fleet. Our teams are asked with researching specific objects and anomalies we find to learn more about them. Performing these tasks is what drives us to become the top exploratory and research organization in Sirius and Gallia.
Utilizing some of the best hardware in Sirius, we are striving to improve upon them. To create not only the best research equipment, but secure ourselves in a strong position for other exploratory and scientifically-inclined individuals to join and continue the journey of learning and discovery.
Secondary
Having a large background in hyperspace surveying before The Pulse, our ships have been equipped with Hyperspace Matrixes in order to build a hyperspace network across space. This enables us to continue learning about Hyperspace travel while performing our own daily duties.
Personal research ventures are encouraged, as each scientist and researcher has their own interests and projects they wish to pursue. Through our exploratory and research methods, we celebrate any developments made within any individual projects.
