Running to system wall in order to die and "deny" interaction to another player is disgusting way of avoiding the main thing that Discovery offers - multiplayer. It should be a against written rules.
Just edit 5.3 rule (https://i.imgur.com/BYc2A4S.png) to 5.3 - Intentionally self-killing, team-killing, planet-diving, sun-diving or wall-running during interactions.
There, you cover more stuff with one rule that is already pretty much established on combat front.
If the fleeing ship makes a veeery slight turn (100k+ wide in turning radius) then it can eventually turn back to the center of the system and land without the pursuer catching up. So it's not a waste of time and it's not a death either. If you want to forbid this you'll have to forbid running from danger in general. Good luck!
I didn’t even know there was a certain point in a system where you’d die- I thought it just went into nothing when you’re chasing down an opponent where your map cursor is in the red…
It seems to me that Freelancer players have changed.
It used to be about the fun, and the RP (in RP servers).
Now its about being a dick, bringing in real-world politics, and generally bad sportsmanship.
I've never seen any of this "Wall-running" before. Or any other ways of killing yourself to deny a kill.
When I was playing this daily, I didn't encounter any of that.
If you started a PvP fight, you fought until one of you died. You didn't wimp out halfway through and run away!
