MALTA - Positive news from the Tau campaign have reached Malta's public news channels today. Don David of the Narvaez cartel's ambitious military plan to deal a final blow to the Crayterian menace in the Tau sector that has been plaguing smuggling operations is one step closer to completion. Released military reports state that the Basilica fleet has successfully reached Tau-44 by evading Bretonian defenses around planet Harris. Similarly the Captana fleet has entered the Crayterian stronghold from Tau-23 and dealt with the immediate defenses near the jump hole anomaly.
Even if spirits on Malta are high from the optimistic war reports, military strategists warn that while the operation has been a major success so far, the hardest part is yet to come in the following days. This warning has not stopped Cardamine smugglers as the encircling of Crayterian forces in Tau-44 has opened a new avenue for major profits in the Bretonian underground markets which had been much more difficult to exploit until recently. Jorge Garcia, a leading profits estimator comments with the following "With the current concerns regarding the Liberty drug trade it is for the best to pursue all possible alternatives and war torn Bretonia might prove to be just as lucrative if we seize the opportunity."
But while the Tau campaign sounds promising, an anonymous source has shared with us that the same could not be said about affairs in the Sigmas. With the bulk of our navy's might being focused in the Taus, battlecruiser Tercio and its strike wings in Sigma-17 have been forced to withdraw from the system after an unsuccessful attempt to destroy Cryer Pharmacuticals' research facility in the system. "What is important is that Tercio has not sustained serious damage in the offensive against Atka regardless of the unexpected complications that were met on the way." reassures us the anonymous source who did not disclose more than the fact they participated in the offensive themselves.
