The Ingenuus Research Group are a group of Scientists and Researchers whose background originated within the Zoners of Sirius, though employs some non-Zoners as well. The IRG was formed under the circumstances and goal of answering blank spots in the universe in which humanity has yet to understand. Having started off with a singular project in mind and a very small staff, Ingenuus quickly grew in size and vision as realization was made that with great minds, comes great potential when put to use.
Pilot carrying this quasi-lawful ID is a Researcher, who:
- Can attack any ship in self-defense, to protect another Allied ship or base.
- Can enforce the Laws of the CoF within systems containing a Zoner base.
- Cannot dock Cruisers and Battleships on any base within any house, except on Zoner and Research bases.
- Cannot dock transports with more than 3,600 cargo within any House, except on Zoner and Research bases.
- Cannot participate in unlawful actions except as described above.
Research Bases are as follows: *Note - These bases will require RP permission from the owners still. This merely is included in the ID, to give the potential to pursue these stations ingame, if we ever were to start deals with these bases. Otherwise, we have no reason to go out to these on our own.

Wherever you go, there will always be questions that cannot be answered. Questions upon what will you do the next day, however on the complete opposite of the spectrum is the questions which take quite a bit more work and thought, to finally receive the answers that you are looking for. Questions about the universe. Questions about how things work, and most of all, Questions upon the mere unknown of what we do not understand.
The Ingenuus Research Group was formed under the circumstances and goal of answering these blank spots in the universe in which humanity has yet to understand. Started off with a singular project in mind. Ingenuus quickly grew as realization was made that with great minds, comes great potential when put to use.
The Ingenuus in current times, is a high aspiration group of scientists and other men and women alike with plans to ignore limitations set out by people in the surroundings, and make a business by what is discovered with the projects set out to the people making up Ingenuus.
Public offices include Bethlehem Station, Ames Research Station, Heisenberg Research Station, as well as Sparta Station. These facilities house smaller research projects as well as providing support and resources towards the local systems relative to each station.
The bulk of the research projects, as well as where the head scientists operate, is located on the ingenuus herself - An experimental vessel constructed within a massive R&D project that began with the creation of the IRG. The Ingenuus, and the IRG as a whole, embodies the goal of discovering the mysteries of Sirius, and the potential it holds to better mankind...
Currently, diplomacy is at an even Neutral with most forces that you would encounter in Sirius. The wish to avoid being interrupted with their work, has led Ingenuus to stay out of trouble when trouble itself arrives. Without the need to think of a force as hostile, Ingenuus sees anybody as a potential business partner in the future, without discrimination. Allies:Zoners, LSF, SIS, Synth Foods Inc, Red Hessians, The Core, Auxesia, Jonathan Kalh Friendly/Neutral:All not listed Hostile:Nomads, Wild, Commune, Corsairs, Unioners Finn McCool (Retired)
- Former director of Ingenuus Research Group. Born in Dublin, the Molly-turned-Zoner was an avid researcher and explorer who found more promise in the fringes than in House space. After experimenting on alien technology, Finn ended up branching out from his previous position within the Phoenix Zoners, and created what is now known as the Ingenuus Research Group.
Dr. De Calais came into this world in 793 A.S., on Planet New Paris. He grew up in a normal, caring family, and attended the Lycée Henri-VII during his early years. He graduated with honours one year early, and went on to attend the École Normale Supérieure of New Paris, the most prestigious Gallic institution in the fields of physics and mathematics. There, he found a passion for research, and dedicated himself to his work, obtaining a PhD in pure mathematics at the age of 23. At 26, he left Gallia,
traveling to attend the Technische Universität von Neues Berlin. He completed a year-long post-doctoral degree there, before seeking employ in the glorious Zoner Commonwealth, eventually rising to the position of head of R&D.
After the Commonwealth's disbandment, he sought rest and quiet, vacationing for a few months, before learning about the IRG's neat little toys.
- Lead Scientist working at Ingenuus. Born in what she likes to call ‘Boring old Texas’ in Liberty, by the influence of her younger sister she has spent most of her life studying subjects of science. Finding pleasure in knowing how things work, she eventually had moved to the Phoenix in hope to work with other people, rather than doing things solo her entire life. Despite acting rather reserved in the temporary position she landed, the limitations of moral standards, and budgets imposed upon her brought her almost to the brink of quitting. It was eventually discovered that McCool was planning to break off and form Ingenuus; a group An area with vastly higher budgets, and the mentality of doing things for the research. Uninhibited by the silly faction conflicts with others.
- A former Xeno-biologist that was stationed on Freeport 11 following the Slomon K'Hara collapse in 801 A.S. By 810 A.S. Dr. Wright grew bored of working in the Deep Omicrons as a lowly scientist working under less reputable people and started pursuing another degree, specifically Jump Physics. In 821 A.S. Dr. Wright completed his 2nd PhD, and after being elected to chair research aboard the Interstellar, he found himself in the Omega 3 system; to study Baxter Anomalies. While conducting his studies, the Ingenuus Research Group discovered his public works on jump drives, and reached out to Brandon offering a increased salary and almost free reign of research. It was an offer that he would be crazy to refuse, and now works full time with the IRG.
- A former Cambridge student before her family left for the Omicrons, Lily spent most of her life amongst scholars and researchers, with much of the family being either teachers or scientists. Although her formal schooling was cut short, she self-educated herself and learned through experimentation, rather than the rote memorization that schooling provides. Specializing in cybernetics and user-interface devices, she spent many of her off-hours during her time within Phoenix experimenting with cybernetically altering Alien Micro-Organisms. Although she was able to do minor research on her own, when the opportunity arose to join Ingenuus, she was packing up her apartment within the hour.
- Born on Freeport 9 to a Researching Father, Liam was quickly pulled into the world of Exploration and Experimentation. His mother had passed early in his life, so Liam spent most of his time on trips with his father. After the passing of his dad, he took over the ship and research and spent most of his time in the deep omicrons, studying the Nomad materials he could gather and trying to implement them into Medical use.
- James Erzie grew up with the Corsairs enslaved to do their work and "entertainment." His father died aboard the Sanctification to a Nomad attack in Cambridge many years ago, and his mother was executed publicly for a crime she did not commit. Beyond that, after he "escaped" the 'Sairs, at the loss of most of his limbs, he studied at Cambridge University, and was given a private apprenticeship under Professor Markus Artouras, my father. He studied the sciences for well over ten years, and continued to do so, such is our nature when we seek out answers. Aside from his studies, he made the Adonaios assistant as a way to put all his tools in the same place and shelter himself from emissions so better observations could be made in his work. Also, he made the suit as a defense unit to protect him in the event of catastrophic failure in experiments or combat, which it has, fortunately, been not been required.
- Born and bred on Cambridge Research Station, Thallia enjoyed scholarships in Quantum Computing and Mechanical Engineering. A skittish girl, she had developed a rudimentary A.I at the age of 24. Two year later, in 822 A.S, she disappeared after purchasing an Anki freighter in pursuit of her A.I companions development. Rumors spread of a conflict between the two, and now in 823 A.S she returned to house space to give conferences on the potential damage A.I could pose to the "Ecology of Humanity." Re-educating herself in the fields of ecology, xeno-biology and medicinal sciences, Thorn was "over the moon" when she received her offer from Ingenuus Research group.
- Born on the green planet Stuttgart, Rheinland, in 792 A.S., he early discovered an intense interest in life and biology which years later earned him this chance. The laid-back, friendly researcher was expelled from his first university for criticism on the Kanzler's political ideologies, which marked the start for Goeben's odyssey. After finishing his studies in Heisenberg Station and Cambridge, he has ever since been roaming about Sirius. Over the years, the young scientist took part in various independent projects and expeditions in all Houses and beyond. He made a small fortune with a shared patent for an advanced zero rejection-reaction treatment in cybernetic treatment. Hans recently has been a freelancing scientist and independent gentleman for years, and seeking a larger cause, didn't hesitate to accept the offer to work as a specialist for cybernetics and augmentations in the ranks of the renowned IRG.
- Kelly was born on Planet Leeds in 801 AS in the industrial district. Life was difficult growing up as she lost her father at 13 due to a fatal accident at his workplace, and her mother went missing at 15 (her whereabouts unknown to this day). After these unfortunate events Kelly was placed in an orphanage where she spent a lot of time sneaking off to go exploring around her new home. She was never adopted and remained in the orphanage until age 18, when she started working odd jobs in order to afford a ship so she could finally travel on her own. Eventually she had bought a ship and began to work as a freelancer for a while to pay for her classes at Cambridge University regarding Communication technologies and Logistics. Soon after starting classes, she received the payment of her fathers Life Insurance, since she was the only known survivor of her immediate family. The next few years were spent gathering up money for her very own vessel she could use for personal exploration, which she decided would be a Bustard Civilian Carrier. During these years she had taken up contract work with BMM and became a prospector for the company. If she were to find a find an ore deposit that was deemed profitable by the company, she would receive about 0.5% of the profits, and after some strenuous searching she finally found one within Bretonian space. By age 22 she had finally purchased her desired ship and named it the Prydwen with the funds from her freelance work, part of her fathers life insurance, and the very hefty payment from BMM regarding the ore deposit. Nearly a year of hard work and re-purposing went into this new ship such as outfitting it with hull upgrades, better scanners, medical and other important facilities, crew, and other necessities for prolonged deep space travel. For a while she roamed the main house systems to get comfortable with her crew and bulky ship, and began her search for contract work. One day in the orbit of Planet Manhattan she met a man named Hans von Goeben, who spoke of the Ingenuus Research Group, which he was a part of. After this encounter and hearing that they were always looking for new personnel, she decided to look into this lead.
- Born on Planet Manhattan in 793 A.S. To a fairly wealthy family of Peter and Jessica Chandler. His father Peter Chandler was the CEO of a planet side transportation company and his mother was a anesthesiologist in Manhattan General Hospital. Ever since a young kid Evan liked observing the stars and this enthusiasm did not go unnoticed by his parents who encouraged him wherever they could. First by small things. Be it science books and a telescope. His teenage years came however and he picked up some bad habits and got into trouble here and there. Nothing major but still enough to deter the relationship between him and his parents. After graduating High School he applied and was accepted to the University of Cambridge where he first studied Physics. After graduating there on BA level he returned home to Liberty and was accepted to the University of Manhattan and studied Astrophysics MA there. During these years he managed to make peace with his parents who were actually proud about what he accomplished. After achieving MA level on Manhattan he returned to Cambridge where he started to work as a teacher on the university while he also studied there and worked on his PhD which he acquired in 820 A.s. Ever since that he remained on the University as a teacher. In 821 he and some of his previous friends from the university teamed up and decided to start an interdisciplinary project that would provide special field training for the most promising BA, MA and PhD students. Later they refined the idea by excluding BA students as the prerequisite field knowledge was too much for their level. Together with Doctor John Clarke and Doctor Rachel Scott they received funding from the university in order to start the project. With some help from his father Evan bought a Corvo deep space explorer and with the funding from the university they refitted it according to their own needs and christened the ship The.Neumann after a scientist from ancient earth John von Neumann. The ship left Cambridge and the crew wandered around Sirius conducting research in astrophysics and stellar phenomena, xeno-biology and xeno-archeology simultaneously. Until recently when due to internal struggle the university cut the funding for the project and discharged the leaders including Evan.
- I was born on Planet New Paris, near one of the major starports, Ile du Palais. To say that I was blessed with a lucky start would be an understatement, but I have tried to use my fortunate upbringing to its maximum potential.
From a young age, I used to gaze up at the stars and stare into the beautiful abyss above me, eyes locked and transfixed at the natural colours overhead. Ill-de-France is a very good place for capturing a young girls amazement. When you look up into the sky, with just the naked eye, you can see a number of planets, each one radiating its own rather unique hue against the background of space. Ill-de-France seems to have an abundance of celestial bodies compared to most systems, and I'd say that definitely influenced the direction my future career and education would lean towards.
Thanks to my background, I was sent off to a rather quite prestigious school. I won't pretend that I excelled or was better than everyone else, but I was certainly rather accomplished in the sciences and mathematics - just a particular strength I suppose. That all being said, my competition was much higher here than it would be in some of the more public schools.
When it was time to move on from basic education into a more specific and specialized field, I applied to the Royal Gallic Research Institute, on New Paris. In all honesty, I wasn't expecting to be accepted given how high the standards are, but I consider myself lucky. Here we studied a whole array of scientific concepts and subjects, all from a particular strand of research. I had chosen a rather broad option - Astronomy and Astrobiology. These topics covered every branch under the sun (pun intended).
I liked the fact we dabbled in everything, it gave me a taste of science in almost every field imaginable, allowing me to really see what I was good at, and what I enjoyed. I soon realized I took a keen interest in research and study of some of the planets around Gallia, Planet Vienne specifically. It was fascinating how a world could support primitive life, but be so inhospitable to humans, while also being nigh impossible to terraform.
I've studied at the Institute for years now, honing my knowledge. As mentioned prior, while I do specialize in the studies of Planets and their terrain, and such, I have a rather wide knowledge base that I believe is better put to use elsewhere. That being said, I've always preferred to be more of a "boots on the ground" kind of researcher. I love exploring the vast wilderness of an uncharted world or gathering samples that have never been touched before.

While the Ingenuus view all of Sirius as their "playground" of sorts, their attention primarily is focused on the fringe systems and edgeworlds. Concerning more of the central house systems, Bethlehem Station in the Pennsylvania system is home to the more public face of the IRG, housing some of the corporate aspects. Beyond Bethlehem and deals with various research institutions and stations, the Ingenuus merely pass through houses rather than operate out of them. Lab 001:<Click to access files>
Lab 001 is the hub of Ingenuus R&D, and home to the central "Ingenuus" project. Lab 001 is primarily where Finn spends most of his time, as well as where all other labs garner their projects from. Lab 002:<Click to access files>
Lab 002, primarily run by Rachel, contains a wide variety of arrays and machines built for the purpose of sub-atomic influence. Lab 002 is home to the study of physics at the smallest level, including the quantum sciences. Lab 003:<Click to access files>
Lab 003 is focused on projects in the concept stages currently. Specifically, Lab 003 will be home to product builds and prototype manufacturing. Lab 004:<Click to access files>
Lab 004 is primarily focused in spacial distortions, better known as "Baxter anomalies". With the study of these anomalies, as well as man-made conventional jumpdrives, lab 004 should pave the way in how starships of the future will travel throughout Sirius and beyond. Lab 005:<Click to access files>
Lab 005 is one of the newer labs to appear, with the increase of staff within the IRG. Lab 005 is focusing on heavily on Computer Sciences and hardware applications such as Communication and Automated systems. With a mother and son leading this lab, notable side interests include Neural Biology as well as Chemistry. Lab 006: - Forthcoming Lab 007:<Click to access files>
Lab 007 currently is focused on ecology, xeno-biology and medicinal sciences. Attempting to move away from the more technological aspects of Science such as A.I. and Cybernetics, this lab is seeking more understanding about the laws of nature and how to better provide insight into the natural state surrounding us in Sirius.
As our vision grows, so does the need for an increase in staff. For more information, please direct your attention here: <Click to access files>
