Ministry of Defense Expands Election Security
New Thessalonica - Yuma: In a spontaneous announcement earlier today, Minister of Defense Trevor Westbrook has stated that Federal Police will be deployed to polling stations across the Republic to ensure voter safety. This news follows the attempt on Governor Aaron Stone's life last month, which Minister Westbrook says 'was a wake up call for the entire nation, and that we were lucky that Governor Stone's luck held out.' He further stated that 'it is Crayter's responsibility to ensure our people remain safe, and that despite our best efforts, we failed Governor Stone. We can only reaffirm our efforts so it doesn't happen again.'
Jennifer Delaney, running mate for Governor Stone, said that 'the news was welcome', and that the hopes the expanded security will deter future attempts. She added, 'I'm aware that this may also be seen as a step towards autocracy, but duty is ingrained into the minds of every one of Crayter's protectors. Their only job is to keep people safe, and they know better than to try and tamper with the democratic process. It wouldn't end well for anybody.' Ms. Delaney said that she looks forward to Sunday's election, and said she feels confident that Crayter will move in the right direction.
The news of this security expansion was not universally approved of, however. Despite affirming hopes that it will provide protection for voters, Candidate Joshua Ellis has lashed back claiming that the expansion will deter many of his supporters from participating. 'I firmly believe that there shouldn't be any obstacles, no matter how small. Protection from harm is nice, but protection from your opponents? What's to stop them from obstructing someone's right to lay down criticism? Words are words, and only the weak-willed let words cause harm,' he said. Ellis has said that he intends to hold a small rally just before polls open, and has said that he 'won't tolerate any obstruction of my peoples' right to speech.'
Polling locations are set to open at 9am Yuma Time, with e-voting channels enabling at the same time. All voting will be closed at midnight.

Aaron Stone Wins Crayterian Presidency
New Thessalonica - Yuma: On Sunday, Crayterians across Sirius either went to polls or submitted via e-voting channels to cast their voice for Crayter's next President. The road to the Presidency has had both its highs and its lows, and is undoubtedly a far cry from the relaxed reelections of Fiona Payne over the past nine years. With the polls closed at midnight last night, the nation waited for the Quorum of Ministers to verify the results, and announced earlier today the next President of the Crayter Republic, Aaron Stone.
Addison Reynolds, Secretary for the Quorum of Ministers, met with President-Elect Stone at the Presidential Compound in New Thessalonica, who delivered a speech to a crowd consisting of numerous city and government officials, as well as several Ministers and foreign dignitaries. A notable absence was Joshua Ellis, who had claimed several hours before the official Quorum announcement that he would challenge the official results of the election, but said that he would concede the race should the challenge prove fruitless.
The results of the election are undeniably the most polarizing in Crayterian history, with Stone alone receiving 83% of the eligible vote, Clark McNalen receiving 13%, and Joshua Ellis receiving less than 2% of the vote, with an estimated 96% turnout. President-Elect Stone is scheduled to be inaugurated on the First of September, and will take the oath of office on the deck of the Presidential Compound. When asked about his immediate plans once in office, Mr. Stone had this to say: "I still have some details to discuss with my staff, but I expect things in this country to change for the better fairly soon. Many politicians don't follow through with their campaign promises. I don't plan to follow that trend. There's too much Crayter needs, and not a lot of time to do it, so we'll be moving fast to make sure what needs doing gets done."

CDI Reveals Next Generation Spacecraft!
Eldorado - Pecos: In a press conference hosted by Crayter Defense Industries revealed a first look at the next generation Crayter superiority fighter "Nyx MkII". With both footage of test flights, and a completed Nyx MkII on the show room floor. CDI president Clark McNalen lead the conference, noticeably not answering questions about his loss in the recent presidential elections. Focusing wholly on showing off CDIs newest, shiniest asset.
"After the devastation that we all know as the 'Orange Hammer' we have realized our need to adapt to our new home here in Sirius. A year after the tragedy we started designing a new fighter craft able to stand up against those who seek to destroy our very people. A more capable craft able to bring it's pilot home alive over all else. While still able to provide firepower just as capable if not more than it's predecessor. The Nyx MkII is the most advance fighter Crayter Defense Industries has produced since the exodus of the Crayter sector." ~McNalen
CDI has also released that it has produced well over 1,000 Nyx MkII and are ready for military use with more on the way. CDI has yet to release a statement regarding when the Nyx MkII will be available to the civilian market. Though has not denied its possibility in the future. Conspiracy theorists say CDI was commissioned to create the Nyx MkII to compensate for the lack of skill of Sirian conscripts compared to true Crayterian pilots. These concerns where hushed after seeing the test footage showing how capable this new fighter craft is compared to the aging Nyx MkI. Preforming as a complete improvement of the Nyx template.

Insurgency Warship Captured!
Sabah Shipyard: It was announced earlier today that a firefight near the Cortez Gate Construction Site was, in fact, a clash between forces of the Crayter Military and remnants of the Liberty Insurgency, as rumored by numerous Integral Systems trade vessels that passed near the action the day before. Though the Ministry of Defense has said little about the fight itself, the outcome can be seen plain as day by anyone flying near the Military's production yard at Sabah, as the outline of an Outcast Dreadnought clashes with the traditionally sleek profiles of Crayter's native war vessels.
Not long after the announcement, numerous prison freighters were seen departing Sabah towards Yuma proper, and Shipyard command has since confirmed the drydocked vessel in question to be the Insurgency Dreadnought Ven'Gyr, a considerable heavyweight among the Insurgency's arsenal, and routinely considered the ship primarily responsible for putting an end to the ill fated Commonwealth of Liberty. Though sources aboard Sabah have claimed that the warship was not the only Insurgency vessel captured as a result of the battle, the Ministry of Defense has yet to make any further statements regarding the incident.
However, when asked what Crayter's intention with the ship was by placing it in Sabah's service yard, Minister of Defense Trevor Westbrook made it clear, saying 'Letting a hulk like that sit there would just be irresponsible, and Crayter's dedicated engineers, who have worked on ships like these before, are more than capable of bring it back to service. It'll do far more good in our hands than the Insurgency's, anyway'. The Ministry of Defense has not made any further comment on the vessel's status or that of its crew, and it remains to be seen how the Ministry's plans will impact the Military's spending quota for the quarter. We will keep you up to date as this story develops.

Stabilizing The Far Taus?
New Thessalonica - Yuma: The newest warship within the Crayterian Fleet, the CFV-Trident, has reached Java station in Tau-23 to bring peace to the heavily contested region. Crayter Military Command has stated the Trident moved to Tau-23 to make sure the Gallic Union stays at arms length, and to contest the well known Maltese smuggling routes in the system. With the Independent Miners Guilds cooperation the infamous cartels now face a chokehold on their already strained exportation of the despicable drug known as cardimine. When asked why the trident wasn't deployed to Tau-37 it was said "It would be going too close to the flame. Within 37 heavier Maltese assets may be lurking within it's nebulas. Waiting for such a move."
After the failed slave rebellion of 831A.S. smuggling interception reached an all time high once shipments presumably resumed years after the rebellion had burned many plantations planetwide on Malta. Outcasts were forced to reserve cardimine for themselves as reports Sirius wide of mass cardimine withdrawals. Once someone partakes of the substance they are forced to take it again and again for the rest of their life! Failure to do so forces the addicted human to grow increasingly ill, and always results in death. Unless given more cardimine to stabilize their condition, or substituted of expensive and less effective stabline. Death tolls were so high it was compared to a plague across all of Sirius and is referred to as "The Heave"! Noticeably, the Crayter Republic suffered none of this as the nation as a whole detests this vial substance and the masters who holds its chain.
The CFV-Trident is the most advanced vessel within the Crayterian fleet, christened only 1 1/2 years ago into service. With her sister ship, Tartarus, is said to have begun construction at the start of this year. The Tartarus is rumored to be purposed to defend Borneo and Tau-44. Though many criticize that the Trident should have filled this role first, with many having the fall of the Orange Hammer still fresh in their mind after the 5 long years to recovery. Feeling defenseless as the space stations in Tau-44 are still undergoing repairs and renovations to handle such a threat again. The military assures the safety of Borneo is of high priority and is defended properly against any threats.

Outcast Focus Elsewhere? Alliance Strike in Barrier Pass!
New Thessalonica - Yuma: Today the Crayter Military, in joint operation with the 46th Liberty Fleet, lead a strike force into the Barrier Pass to root out the Maltese presence within the pass. The spark of a campaign after a harsh training program between the Alliance Navies hosted in Coronado.
Finding an unreinforced battlegroup, most likely meant to maintain the smuggling routes through the Pass. Not for open engagement against a combat ready group hunting for them. They fell to our mighty force. With sector wide news of the Battle of Freeport 9 reached our side of the galaxy. Strategists within the military command devised a reduced Outcast presence within the Tau front while the mutants are more focused in the far Omicrons. Now being the time to strike. The Strike Force had been training for months alongside the Bretonian Armed Forces for a vast scale of operations so the group would be well prepared for whatever they found within the Barrier Pass. Routing the unprepared Outcast force.
Though we have achieved victory today, the Ministry of Defense implies that there is still a heavy Outcast presence across the larger Barrier Rim. Though their hold has loosened, and shaken on the Barrier Pass. Stating that it is likely they have shifted recourses to other parts of the sector and Crayter will be warry of future activity. While assuring Coronado just got safer.

Returning Heroes From Deep Taus!
New Thessalonica - Yuma: Earlier this week, battle hardened heroes of the Crayter Republic have returned after months of fighting within the deep Taus and the announced operation of "Sown Blaze" early last year. Our heroes arrived home weeks before their planned arrival. Catching the public transport system between Sabah Shipyard and the surface of planet Yuma off-guard with overcrowded trollies of both returning vets and loved ones rushing to meet them. This has caused numerous break downs in vessels in launch bays causing further build up of traffic. Delays are expected to continue in the coming days with ongoing repairs.
The returning fleet has gained victory after victory on their blazed trail home. Last destroying an Outcast retaliation strike group in Tau-31, reinforced by the HMS-Livingston and the Bretonian Armed Forces. These Outcast cartels surely aimed at our home system of Tau-44 to once more devastate the system years ago. Having destroyed this threat the Crayter Republic is once again safe from the mutant threat after their continual defeats.
The Quorum of the Crayter Republic has issued the recall of all Technocracy branded cybernetics and augmentations under the pretense of hardcoded malware. Please see your cybernetics physician about options right for you.
