Personal project overseeing upgrades and foundational development of the Incursus platform. Vessel was relatively undamaged during Battle for Magellan, although currently unknown damage if any from the Blackout.
Details
Incursus was directly involved in the Battle of Magellan, but sustained little to no noticeable damage from Navy units during combat. While this expedited her servicing upon arrival at Barrier Gate, the years of complacency regarding her internals, as well as potential unseen damage from the Blackout has brought her capabilities into question.
I'm activating this as a personal project, in the hope of keeping details relating to Incursus secure and concise. The ship will need extensive analysis to determine the extent of any damage, if any at all, and to update core systems modified after the Scouring of Bering.
AV Incursus - 'Osiris'-class Battleship
A preliminary analysis of the ship's internals shows there's definitely a potential in expanding her capabilities. Sensory connectivity could use optimization, although she no longer needs a wide connection array since the Gladius Network is hosted aboard her. Very likely that can be replaced by further updates to the cyberwarfare modules, perhaps even developments to potential lane interaction. I'd like to see if I can put some of those old techniques to use, and doing that through an improved suite of tactical modules would be a hell of a way to beef up her potential.
There's also potential in upgrading her hardware as well. The larger internals, drive core, batteries, weapons mounts, are all up to Legion-standards. Particulars, like the potential for more efficient cabling or even incorporating systems latticing could make her even more feared than before.
Equipment
The following ships are being earmarked for project focus:
AV Incursus
In addition, prior access to Omega-level protocols has been given. Directed uplink to the Gladius Network for sensor detection, gate/lane connectivity, and general usage will be enabled for all vessels listed above.
Status
The current status of this project is:
FINALIZED
This project is currently complete pending implementation, though it has not reached full completion of prospective upgrades.

Overall Evaluation
Activated this project file about the same time I started doing mass recalibration for FREEROLL, so no wonder this one took a backseat. Incursus at the moment is more of a headquarters than a mobile base-of-operations, but with my strikecraft fit for duty, I can finally start focusing on the old girl herself.
I don't have the luxury of putting my own personal expertise alone into this one. This is a full ODD project, albeit under a personal file tag. As such, only those with the right clearance will see these updates. Paranoia really does run in the leadership, huh. Necessary, though. I'm not risking the whole network just to see the ship fly a little bit earlier.
As for an actual technical analysis, Chief Engineer Haylinn is certain the ship is more than capable of full combat operations, any the only thing that's really needed is a 'new paintjob'. While she's of use, though, I'd rather Incursus be a ship to a feared, put the scare into anyone who would challenge the Legion anew once more. Be more than just a symbol of resistance.
To that end, the sensor suite is going to need a full overhaul, including a dip into some serious Ageira-levels of technicality. Going to put my years on Detroit to use, but I'm pretty confident here. Systems lattice for the ship software, on top of modifications to her internal cabling for better efficiency.
When we're done here, she's gonna be more fluid than water.

Logistics and Technicals
Last five days were spent both looking through the ship's internals, while also arguing with Haylinn regarding where she can be improved. She says it's negligible, but it's not. It never has been. Once we finish updating her, topping off with lattice, she's gonna dance through fights, I swear it.
On past notes, increasing flow efficiency is going to require some hefty work going through each and every length of cabling aboard this ship. Primary cabling, though. Localized arm-length distances are effectively instantaneous as far as signaling goes through these things. Ship-wide, it's simple but time consuming. At least it's relatively cheap.
What won't be cheap is overhauling the sensor array, not to mention more focused hardpoints, like gun mounts or guidance lights (yes, I'm serious). Re-mounting is just not something these mooring ports were meant for, and while they'll work if we really need them to, having dedicated drydocks for us to operate in would make this all a lot easier. Haylinn has suggested Invergordon, and I'm inclined to agree, which means contact with the Junkers that operate it.
While contact is being made, we'll need to secure the right materials to recabling. Standard optics cabling might be preferable, but quantum may also be on the table.
The possibilities are very intriguing.

Reboot and Refresh
Been a fat minute since I looked at these documents. Nearly four whole months, and we're still no closer to bringing Incursus up to the modern day. This is what I get for playing around under the radar.
First things, take stock of the issues at hand.
Contact with Junkers in Inverness, failing that, try the Technocrats. We may be on speaking terms, but I don't fully trust them to not put a bug in the ship when we aren't looking. Junkers are the better bet, though. Less of a mess if I catch them trying anything funny. They tend to just retract and move on.
Second, source the tech.
We'll need some seriously high-grade sensory tech to beef up the old girl's suite. I'm thinking Spyglass, but Lord knows the Hackers are gonna have that on lock. Still, procuring some may not be impossible, either through careful negotiation or slipping a substantial amount of credits to someone on the inside. Would be real nice to have some ex-Harmony folks right about now.
Third, material. Lots of it.
Raw cabling across the whole length of the ship. Nothing too complicated, and a hell of a lot more straightforward than acquiring spyglass gear from the Mactan Mooks. Issue becomes finding enough of the processed stuff to satisfy the overhaul.
The rest boils down to tech business, and I can handle code. Latticing should be held off until the end, so as to minimize the migraine.
Gonna be like a well-oiled machine, though, even if a little under-manned. Just gotta get off the ground first.

Soon-to-be Fully Operational
Turns out my grand plans have one critical problem: They're fucking grand. Too grand, far too much for my britches, at least at the moment.
With Hewitt's arrival and the Technocracy becoming our new host, this project is going to have to be done in stages instead of over a condensed period. That means putting a lot of the overhaul on hold until we can properly source the materials, which really should've been a no-brainer to begin with, but again, grand plans.
Upside, the ship is effectively combat capable, as much as she was during Duskstorm. Minor repairs were already finalized when we were based out of Barrier Gate, and while she's nowhere near where I want her to be, she's more than capable of taking on same-grade warships, albeit with support as usual.
Downside, mostly my ego. There are some outdated combat suites, mostly in the guidance thruster department, but weapons, power, and shields are all well above board.
Really, I just want to get the ship ready for combat ops so she isn't sitting in Inverness day-in, day-out looking pretty for the pricks aboard Valravn. Superficial issues like her scanner profile, IFF registry, marker branding. The stuff that tells everyone 'I am a relic, and I'm fucking angry'.
I don't anticipate it will take very long.

Field Ready
Final adjustments are being made to the IFF registry as I write this, but the rest of the facial changes to the ship's markings are already done and field tested. I'll need to have a talk with some of the guys down below to make sure none of this is interfering with ship operations, since sometimes these minor technical changes can do that, but the bulk of the work seems done.
Gotta be honest, recent ops are helping me focus on getting this heavy asset projects up and running. Gonna be a hell of a payoff when we're blasting the shit out of Knight's precious little ship. No idea how she keeps it supplied, but it's no need to get complacent with the old girl's systems.
Part of me wants to focus this project's development towards challenging her plinky little dreadnought. A lot of me does, actually.
We'll see.
For now, though, once the final adjustments are made, Incursus should be ready to make her return to the stage.

Technical Eval
So it turned out that potential for tiny things to fuck up the whole process reared its ugly head. Poured our heads over this for almost two months trying to figure it out, right down to testing out a different antenna suite entirely. Nothing.
Turns out, though, that for all my technical genius, I'm a fucking idiot.
The lattice.
When we brought the girl in after Knight's coup, I set up a rudimentary lattice for the ship's systems to link through. I'd had her tied to the old network based off Leniex, but kept a severance failsafe built in if we needed to take her far from home. Severance failsafes don't really work all that well when you start making changes within the lattice, and I guess it started sending waves across the internal network whenever I'd make changes to her registry, and that lattice sends it everywhere.
I'm gonna need to strip the whole lattice apart piece by piece and reconfigure it. Gonna build some flexibility in so this shit doesn't happen again. Got no idea how long this is gonna take, though, and I might even need newer hardware for some of the more taxing bits. I've gotten a bit more efficient with my latticing, but that efficiency takes its toll on older gear.
Guess I better cancel my plans for the next few weeks..

Lattice Adjustment
Took a bit longer than I'd planned, mostly down to some of the labor in keeping the drive core connected while I dug the whole ship apart (metaphor), but the lattice is back in a serviceable state. Took it out a couple days ago and processed some fire algorithms towards that moon near the Freeport. Notified the admin, but we've been here for so long that I doubt they minded. Might have even been a decent fireworks show. I don't know, I'm not a Zoner.
Results were promising, though. A few spikes, but nothing tweaks to the lattice won't cure. Just can't do anything too drastic, lest we do this whole dance all-fucking-over again.
Made sure to keep amendment coding for the transponder registry, whenever we finally get it done. There's been so much chaos over fixing the damn lattice, at this rate I'm tempted to just freeball it. Wouldn't look flashy, though. It's also a reminder of Knight's shit parade wherever we go.
I've got a field exercise planned a few days out from now. I need to know the old girl's got some bite left in her, especially if I'm gonna be pouring the budget on other projects once she's ready.

Field Deployment
Just put in after a pretty substantial test flight. Almost got down with some Navy folks, but opted out. Would've been a good test of the old girl's offensive capabilities, but we'll keep that for the organized flight.
Reports from below showed the lattice is doing it's job. Got good feedback from engines, thrust, radar. Good signs she's nearing field readiness.
Once I get some good combat data, we'll move forward with the registry adjustments. If Leviathan comes through with any of those fancy guns, might take a bit longer to get them mounted and tested, but we're in the final stretch.
I can already hear the exploding bulkheads. This is gonna be lit.

Details
Promising results today. Ambushed a Navy operations force in Magellan alongside Carmine and Freud, and was able to take down one of their heavy warships before we were forced to withdraw. Not a spectacular display; I'm pretty sure we're all rusty from lack of action over the years, but I did get some good results from the combat recorder.
Analytics-wise, weapons performed sub-optimally, but that's mostly down to user error; Scanners and readers were about as good as I could ask for, and the reactor held up until we were forced to pull out. Primary concern was our armor, which didn't hold up nearly as well as I'd hoped, but wasn't too detached from where I expected a nearly two-decade old ship to be at.
All in all, a pretty good run. She's already being patched up for the next go-round tomorrow, so we'll see how she handles repeated duress as well as a second go. She won't be sitting pretty this time around; Incursus is gonna be a workhorse, back in her prime.
