I signed up on this forum when I was 15 exactly 14 years ago to this day. I am 29 now. I had been playing Freelancer since I was 8. The world has changed a lot since then but I am still an avid fan of space and scifi. I still replay Freelancer every year, along with many other games of my childhood and teenage years, nothing has surpassed this game in terms of atmosphere and the true feeling of exploration since. On this server I learned English since it's not my native language. It helped me lot during high school, I have met friends here who led to other friends who have become RL friends eventually. It brings tears to my eyes seeing that this site has been staying true to the old mid 2000s forum style all these years and that people are still playing this awesome game and mod.
Welcome, welcome back! It's quite impressive Freelancer's still alive and kicking, isn't it? And still developed besides!
If it's true you can't keep a good man down, it must also be true you can't keep a good game down
If you've been missing for a while from the game, you must have a lot of questions - so please, by all means, ask away and we'll see to help you figure stuff out, either here or on the Discord!
Discovery's as good as ever -- ironing out story, new mechanics, new ways to play the game as a whole. As Karmotrine very nicely put it, do drop any questions you've got over here and we'll happily lend a helping hand.

Welcome back! I'm in exactly the same boat - started playing in 2007 as a teenager, now I'm 30. Insane how time flies! If you're getting started again and need a hand, do look at the veteran player offer linked on the topbar. We also have a very active Discord server where you can catch up with other players and ask any questions you might have.
Thank you guys for the warm replies. Sadly, I don't actually plan on coming back any time soon. Keeping space warm right now with my Everspace 2 playthrough, though its nothing quite like Freelancer.
