Open Transmission from Tau-23
To All Traders and Money-Makers Alike
Ikarus Storage Facility 03 houses Niobium Ore in Tau 23, for traders across all of Sirius.
The Junkers aren't in it for the profit, they want to have a new foothold. New commodities, new trades, and new business with whoever comes forward. Most of their influence is isolated within Liberty, and today they arrive in the Taus. The Junkers goal here to simply expand their influence across Sirius and be a presence hidden in plain sight.
Their purpose here is to have a base to gather and ship Niobium Ore back to Puerto Rico to maintain their assets. The nearby Outcast homeworld loves the fact there's an outpost selling the Ore, rather than them working for it themselves, so this keeps Cali and ISF_03 happy.
Story:
A junker named Venk with a ship designated JK-46, decided to painstakingly move Hull Segments, Reinforced Alloys and other resources one at a time into Tau 23. He left everything suspended in space until everything was there. Over the years, the Outcasts stole and pillaged from this unprotected suspended lot of loot, not knowing it was a Junker leaving these resources there.
Eventually, JK-46 got everything in place, so he got to work.
After taking a few months of welding and piecing together the communications array, he noticed something wasn't quite right. The Station's designation was "Kusari Storage Facility 03"... but the exterior panels showing the name were welded in the wrong order. So thus, the station was reprogrammed to show as Ikarus, and was finally opened to the residents of Sirius.

Niobium Ore

From Mr. Venk. Owner of ISF_03.
After some time, JK-46 has fell silent. No one got any communications, and no traders came through Tau-23. No one knows what happened to Venk. One day, a new manager came along and claimed ownership of the base, seeing as it was still in perfect working order.

Ikarus Station
Ikarus Station
Ikarus Station (presently named Ikarus Storage Facility 03) was formerly a Junker base stationed in Tau-23 that had fallen into some disrepair after a lack of use and was recovered with the aid of the Starfliers. The site now functions as the primary R&D facility for Starlight Research Consortium. Additionally, Ikarus Station is considered the headquarters for the SLRC and is presently under retrofit for expansion for research into other fields such as development into stealth systems, cloak disruptors, hyperdrives, and a wide variety of other technologies as well. However, since the base is still under repair and the SLRC is in it's infancy, this is planned for a later date.
Scientific Data
In order to fund certain aspects of our research, we often will sell off innocuous and safe parts of our research for Sirius at large to utilize as they see fit. This serves a dual purpose. One, it funds many aspects of the day to day operations of SLRC as well as funds many of our other research projects that aren't open to the public. Two, it lifts up Sirius at large to benefit from certain aspects of our research to aid us to stand on the shoulders of giants and grow to understand our place in Sirius.
We will sell units of this data for 2.750.000SC each. The station will sell up to 500 units at a time.
If there are any questions or concerns about Ikarus Station and it's purpose, feel free to reach out to Doctor Sailas Montgomery for further information.

Subject: Policies involving access to Ikarus Station
Encryption Strength: Impossible
Due to ongoing security concerns onboard Ikarus Station, the Director has made a policy change involving access to the station. Security passes are now required in order to access for the purchase of Scientific Data or other supplies. These approvals will be granted on an as needed basis and access will be heavily limited. Following any purchases of data or other items, access will remain unless there are issues with the individual in question; at which point their access will be removed and they will be added to a black list.
Sections A, B, & C are accessible to all with security passes to dock. Any other sections (C through F) are limited to SLRC personnel only. Any one found to be in a restricted section will be asked to leave and all personal belongings confiscated and destroyed--this includes clothing. Those who are found to be in violation of these guidelines will be given a change of clothing and escorted away from the premises after a through search of their vessel.
The reasons for this change is due to the sensitive nature of research ongoing aboard Ikarus. Additionally with the addition of myself being appointed Director of Security for the SLRC, I have recommended these changes to tighten security. We will update with any further changes to station security or the security of SLRC as a whole that involves external parties.
Thank you for your time and we apologize for any difficulties or interruptions this causes with access.

Greetings Mr. Soloman.
Reviewing your paperwork, all appears to be in order. Please ensure that you follow all proscribed paths whilst onboard Ikarus and pay attention to the areas that are off limits.
Safe travels.

What group do you represent & why are you requesting access? All Worlds Enterprises & Securities - We can provide direct deliveries from Convergence Trade Centre (Tau-31) of supplies such as Anomaly Scanner Batteries and Sunbucks Coffee. We are also interested in Scientific Data, as future project announcements will disclose.
Vessel Name, Type, ID, and IFF All AWES- tagged w/IDs with Interspace Commerce IFF
SLRC security personnel reserve the right to search you at anytime onboard Ikarus Station for any reason. Do you agree to this? Can we opt to stay in the ship and have you come into our ship to collect the cargo? We'll comply with base regulations, but if security gets a bit too invasive, we will be leaving... with our coffee and donuts...
Any deviation from the approved course will result in a search of you and your personal belongings (including your vessel), destruction of your personal property, and removal from the station. Do you understand? At this point, we will be too afraid even to leave the ship. Yes, we understand. For our sake as well as for ease of our handling by your security forces, we will send one or two members of the crew ONLY from docked vessels - all others will remain onboard until business is completed.

Greetings Mr. Hayes.
He chuckles lightly.
We don't mean to concern you, Mr Hayes. With the recent developments within the Taus, we are simply looking out for our people and ensuring that others don't use Ikarus station as a shield from attacks by other parties. That would be disastrous I'm sure you understand. The reasoning for remaining out of the areas where ongoing research is happening is because there are many sensitive and dangerous projects that could be used elsewhere with horrific effects...not to mention profitable for other parties to learn about.
Our security teams will not hassle you in anyway as long as you remain in the aforementioned sections only...after all, we wouldn't want you to leave with your delicious doughnuts and coffee...the lifeblood of many of our scientists, Dr. Harlow included!
Permission to dock is obviously granted. Please let us know how we can assuage your concerns and worries when coming aboard. You can find me in my office near mooring point A, section C should you wish to discuss or have me clarify anything at all. I look forward to discussing it with you.
Oh, and bring one of those shipments of that coffee over to my office as well...after todays security incidents, I could use one or seven.
--Mr. Julian Hargrove Director of Security, SLRC Ever upwards, towards starlight!
What group do you represent & why are you requesting access? My callsign is Points. I've met multiple times with one or more of your colleagues recently, with Doctor Aspen Harlow being the one who redirected me to your station. The amount of engineering and studies your team performs piqued my interest, so I figured that in order to provide my services I should at least have access to Ikarus to refuel and restock, and perhaps even stay for the necessary amount of time needed to trade my expertise with yours. I'm not going to discard a good opportunity to learn while doing some honest work. Fees coming my way are, of course, greatly appreciated.

SLRC security personnel reserve the right to search you at anytime onboard Ikarus Station for any reason. Do you agree to this? I'll comply. I don't particularly enjoy the hands-on approach of being patted down though.
Any deviation from the approved course will result in a search of you and your personal belongings (including your vessel), destruction of your personal property, and removal from the station. Do you understand? I will be on my best behavior.
